平潭，是中国大陆距离台湾本岛最近的地方。

Pingtan is the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan.

It witnessed a virescence change in the Chinese mainland, and delivered positive outcome for the ecology

清朝乾隆年间，平潭县志中曾有“一夕沙埋十八村”的记载。

During the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, Pingtan Chronicle recorded more than eighteen villages devoured by sand in one night.

1949年，森林覆盖率仅3%。

In 1949, the forest coverage rate was only 3%in Pingtan.

50年代末，成功引种木麻黄，植树造林。

At the end of the 1950s, Casuarina equisetifolia was successfully introduced and afforested.

20世纪60年代，平潭开始对长江澳、龙王头燕下浦、远垱澳、流东、流西五大风口实施沙荒治理。

In the 1960s, Pingtan began to implement desert control on five major vents ofChangjiang’ao, Longwangtou Yanxiapu, Yuandang’ao, Liudong and Liuxi.

2018年4月，与福建农林大学合作推进“平潭滨海菌草生态治理及产业化的开发研究与示范”项目，在平潭长江澳菌草种植示范基地试验种植150多亩菌草

In April 2018, Pingtan cooperated with Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University to promotethe “Development Research and Demonstrationof Pingtan Coastal Juncao Ecological Management and Industrialization" project, and planted more than 150 acres of Juncao in Pingtan Changjiang’ao Juncao Planting Demonstration Base.

2019年被授予“国家森林城市”称号。

In 2019, it was awarded the title of "National Forest City".

2020年，平潭森林覆盖率38.85%。

In 2020, Pingtan's forest coverage rate is38.85%.

如今这里成了常年皆绿、四季有花、处处有景的国际旅游岛。

Today, it has become an international tourism island covered with plants and flowers all year round.
